Linux alpha doesnt launch on SuSE 7.3?
 

Hi, I'm using SuSE 7.3 Linux - I launch Winamp, three black "windows" appear for about a second and then disappear and the program ends. No error messages come up anywhere.

Anyone got an idea of where to look?

i'm no linux expert, so i wouldn't know.

I grabbed the debug output and have attached it. It doesn't make much sense to me :(

I know you need to configure X to be in 24 or 32 bit color for it to work. Besides that, I won't be any help to you :( because I don't know anything else about Linux.

You got it in one! I had my color depth at 16 bits.

it segment faults when you close it, but that's a minor irritation :)

to be honest I would just wait until a beta (lets face it, as a linux user, most of your software is beta.) I think (apparently) there working on it. I tried to get info but got flamed for jokingly calling it linamp in the post subject! :confused:

I wish more linux users came to the forum...so we can help work out the bugs :D

im installing suse 7.3 next week (hopefully)

but what I asked for wasn't in the FAQ! I was just curious to see how the linux version was doing.

we don't really know how the linux version is going. I don't think its been dabbed with for a little while because the win32 version is priority for the moment.:D
