Ack, no one has posted on this venerable, long-lived thread in two and a half days. I feel therefore that it is my duty to revive our dear, dear friend and not let it simply slide away into oblivion without any sort of fond farewell. Such good times have been had perusing this thread, seeing it grow and evolve far beyond that which it was originally intended for. It is a travesty to see it simply forgotten without so much as a "it was nice knowing you" goodbye. Hence, if this is to be farewell, then i wish to not only finally contribute to the growth of this great dialogue, but to give this dear compatriot of a thread a glorious and hardly worthy send off. If this is goodbye dear thread, then adios, and au reviour. May we never forget you dear friend for all the happy times we have had together.

Can you guys at least post a topic, I can't post something unless their is a topic or this would feel like General Discussion, so lets think. What topic can we find to discuss generally with Winamp3?

My question is whether W3 will be bundled with anything besides AOL stuff and unknown artist mp3s?

quite a bit of the songs bundled with winamp has been with quite famous artist - unfortunanly they are in wma format :( too bad

yeah, why is that? whats wrong with plain 'ole mp3?

has anyone actually examined those wmas? are they secured in any way?
i certainly dont see the point in using wma when you are giving it away free.

yeah, I think they are secured.. I downloaded P.O.D. - Alive a couple of weeks ago and it didn't work.. it just tried to open a site (in a browser window that poped up) which it couldn't find.. and the music didn't start.. it seems like it has to verify the music in a way before you can play it.. and then you can just play it for so long as they have decided that you can.. or something.. :)
just like the P.O.D. song "Youth Of The Nation" i downloaded from rollingstone.com which can only be played for 15 days.. :(
but I have their albume so it's not that bad :D

It's important though for all of us junkies who only hang in WA3 to have a bit of a general discussion. Personally I find General Discussion to busy and moves to fast for me to keep up with.
