Dynamic ip....
Well i'm having a dynamic ip and i'd like to know if it's possible to make a link wich always have the good one on my website...
Please help me!!! It's boring changing the link each time my ip change... |
You're not alone!
What you want is a dynamic DNS service, which basically means you get a DNS entry like 'my_name.someDNSservice.com' and a bit of software that runs on your computer which sends a note of your current IP address to the dns server every now and then. This will let you put a link on your site to my_name.someDNSservice.com:8000/listen.pls and whatever your IP is, the DNS will know and automagically forward the request to your machine. The service I use on my DSL is from http://******.deerfield.com/, but I know there are quite a few different (free!) options out there for you to choose. Good luck! leo |
