Well, I'm reopening my old website found here http://www15.brinkster.com/garetjax/ All my skins (*the ones I still have will be available there.). And for those that do have the jaxxskin will see exactly why I chose to make it like I did. I invite you to take a look....I will have it mirror to a real server with my own .com / .nu website very soon. Currently, my links point to 1001 and its a bit of a pain...but, very soon I will have the list pointing to my own file server.

Thankx for stopping by and please go ahead and tell me if you like it or not...(btw: the links for lynx, forever, ampburner will point to their respective websites...and I will be featuring a skin of each author on my own site [most likely a collabaritive work].)

it scrolls horizontally on 800x600 and none of the links work (apart from the skins). Apart from that it's a great design.

Not bad on the old style retro colour scheme :)
I run at 1024 by the other one and the writing looks a wee bit small but for others its probably ok. You could indent the text on the left and move the links on the right (of all them amps) to another page. I wouldnt shove all that much info on one page, especially the 'index'.. the way it is looks uneven. It'd work better if the topbar links worked but i suppose your doing it later.
The date and stuff could be placed somewhere no so far to the right.. but thats not a big thing.

Sharp page - good layout and color choices - blue and orange is always a favorite around here :D

I'm flattered to be included as well :) and for the record, I'm still working on Devour but I haven't made any major adjustments in the last week or so - I was starting to burn out and I was afraid I would ruin it - so I'm waiting for the inspiration to hit me. Probably after my current project/skin.

I think you should stay away from flash :D
but thats only cause I'm still a 56k'r :D

No Flash, Flash is evil. Either that or I'm just disgruntled about the school computers, whose homepage is set to a Flash intro to the school site, so you have about two seconds to type your URL when you open the borwser or have it erased by the evil redirect. Dammit. :mad:

Okay to answer the questions:

Q1) I am aware of the top page links not working (yet).
A1) The top page links are being built from an include file. The links will work when the pages are complete and have somewhere to go.

Q2) Flash.
A2) Currently I am working on a flash introduction that is simple and straightforward (w/ a JavaScript Presentation that is the same.)

Q3) Size & Textual Representation.
A3) The page size and such will eventually be set to reduce per size width/height of client pc. Note, however this will not occur until I am done uploading my skins and finish the database for them.

Well, acutally, both syllables of "flatmatt" have about equal emphasis, as if they were two words (except they're not). Probably because it's based on Detroit-area DJ "Phat Matt" :igor: It's complicated, but it still has exactly 3 "t"'s, not 2, not 4, but 3. :cool:

:D alive, yes...skinning, well no serious skinning, I've played around with some old stuff, but nothing interesting came out of that. I think I might have lost my skinning 'touch', so I decided not to skin for a while, maybe it'll come back to me, heh... :) Call it a bad case of skinner's block. I just figured I needed some time off.

this is basically what ive done to it jax.. i tried to keep all the original artwork from before.. its just shinier now.. the main will be a little different when it comes to the text i think. not to disasterous ;)

Actually, Peacemaker (sorry about the late reply working on 3 skins, my website and working has taken alot of my time) You can modify any of my skins that you like. Only thing I usually ask is that you send me a final draft of the submitted work and that you at least keep my name in a readme.txt file in an obscure location somewhere...LOL

Honestly, I am slowly working on the skin you gave me...but, the detail level is very intoxicating/challenging. I am also, working on 2 other skins...One for RobNation and another called Solid-Dream...(Winamp3). My First Freeform...as soon as I have something to show I will.

well, it isn't that hard to make a basic skin. I shouldn't promise too much, though, I haven't a finished skin yet. But the concept is simpler than it seems. If you wanna have kool stuff... well, that's different, I haven't gotten to that for now..

And honestly, I don't think a WA3 editor would be good - it would produce only another kind of skinner skins. :weird:

ok well tell me this.. to script winamp 3 its just a matter of calling what co-ordinates within assigned image files (.png), that represent all the parts of the skin, then the action is described later. if thats mainly all there is to it, anyone can do it.

what you're talking about is xml coding (similar to html/smil and other markup languages) Not too hard to learn
But if you want to have a custom button for example..

yes, you do the layout definition with xml :D (with customized tags of course)

Cool funtions are done with Maki I think... but as I said I have absolutely no idea how it works (yet)

yeh the xml part is easy, a bit like designing a website layout.. but that special alpha blending shit is something ill have to search for.
