I need some constructive criticism. I don't like the upper part of the Main where the Volume, Balance, Mono/Stereo are. It looks too busy. Suggestions?

Also, maybe too much yellow.

I really need suggestions. If it sucks, I'm scrapping it, and I'm not going any further with it until I get some idea. If I don't get any idea of what I'm doing, I'm scrapping it.

I like the color scheme....I'd finish it, maybe add some more detail...but that could mess up the look if its all going to be 2d...as for the volume/balance i spose orange with a blue slider would look ok if the vis color will be similar to that....

cleanup, that skin is very Skinme! finish it. the only thing i dont really like is the text in the upper left

Any name suggestions? Rico was going to be the name of the skin.

Btw, it is going to be all 2-D. It's more of a artistic thing than a trendy skin.

But the 3-D Arrow stays! :D It's the one representing the "About Winamp" button.

I think the 3d look on the tite and that little arrow down the bottom dont really fit in...seeing as the rest will be 2d the text would probabaly look better that way too...good luck thinking of a name....thats usually the hardest part of making a skin for me...

Notice, the application buttons (WindowShade, Close, Minimize, etc.) are 3-D. Sort of. I just put a darker shade of grey around the edges to give it bevel.

I see what u mean....maybe doing the cbuttons like that would fit in better then :D

i was thinking the exact same thing. i too like the color scheme. as for the "busy" part, i dont think it looks busy at all.

Going on the EQ, and if you're all wondering about my skin Nuclear Memory:

it's kinda on hold right now. I just don't have the time to finish it. Plus I find it hard to work on only one skin at a time. It bothers me for some reason. I'm a skin-a-holic.

I have no idea why, but i reckon that this skin is one of the best looking 'simple' skins in a long time (sorry skinme!). I'm not too keen on that yellow, but saying that it looks really good. I'll have to see the eq to be sure though

Yeah, I'm a Matrix fan, but I wasn't thinking about the Matrix when I made the pill. I was just fooling around in Photoshop. ;)

i like it, i really like the thick border between the eq and pl. the eq bars are, i dunno. i dont think the dashes in them fit with the thick lies of the rest of the skin. i like the blue color splashes :)

With the thick 2-pixel border, it almost looks cartoony. That's what I'm trying to achieve, and I don't want the measuring dashes on the EQ bars (that are to represent glass vials, sort of) two-pixels thick as well. It all blends into the cartoony look.

Not bad not bad. :) Need's some fine-tuneing though but you should definetly not scrap it. I like the idea. However - My suggestion is that you perhaps should try with some more "faded" colors? Otherwise than that it's very simplistic and that's a good thing :)

Faded colours? :) As I said, I wanted it to look cartoony. Rich, colourful, and something that stands out. It almost looks like an abstract painting.

It looks really good from far away for some reason, maybe eight feet. Stand back from your monitor and you'll see what I mean. ;)

Going on PL. I dunno why, but I hate the PL. The Main Window is my favourite when skinning. Because it's ... so.. Main-ish...

yeah i know what you mean. the PL and MB can be a total disaster.

ive only made 2 skins, but yeah, after i am 100% done with the main, pl, mb, and wshades i do the MB, and then the avs. by the time i get to the avs, having spent about 80 skinning hours on the skin (my recent one) i rush through it. but, there isnt much you can do with those small ass borders so it doesnt realy matter. what i find to be a big pain in the ass is the shared line in the main ws. what a pain in the ass- but, im done with wa2, and havent started wa3 yet, but i dont know what.

I'm also a bit afraid to take the big step.

It would probably be fun as hell to skin Wa3, but all this tweaky programming really scares one away :) I have a lot of ideas that just aren't possible with Wa2, but could be applied to Wa3 without a doubt. I figured I'll take a day or two to at least try to look into Wa3-skinning. Feels like I'm done with Wa2. :)

Classic happiness?? I like it, but but how does timeless tranquility or similar sound??? As this skin doesnt have a particular modern nor retro look to it i think the timeless part fits better than classic...

I thought it kind of looked retro. Colourful, like a fresh memory. A memory of a decade of happiness, Classic Happiness, at that. ;)
