CD-Text Player
Maybe the winamp devs can hack this to find out how it reads CD-TEXT
http://www.plextor.be/english/technical/cdtext.html |
No big secret, the CD Text information is contained in the sub channels.
Only newer drives can read this info, as a general rule anything 12X or faster, and then only if there is something to read. Very few commercial disks use the system. Most modern CD software can read this info EAC Nero Feurio to name a few. The best CD Text Player I know is to be found in Feurio, I never found the Plextor one very reliable, especially with non Plextor drives. UJ |
How new do you think they need to be???
My drive is over 1 year old, and my friends older 8x can burn CD-TEXT. How does Nero "read" CD-TEXT? I know it burns it...I tried to copy a burned audio cd, it did nothing about reading CD-TEXT. |
If you go to this site :
http://www.feurio.de/English/ and look around, you should find a list of CD drives that support CD Text. Some older drives may be capable with a firmware updated. UJ |
I don't want to sound stupid but, what is CD-TEXT?
|
search google

it stores the name of the song on the cd, so ur player can tell u what the song is.
but it would be really cool, like he said, if winamp could read cdtext when it plays audio cds. however, i think this thread belongs in either winamp2 or 3 wishlest |
CD TEXT rocks.
My Sony USB 4x burns cd text. My portable Sony mp3/cd player reads cd text, so its just perfect. |
