Winamp won't play last song on many CDs
Hi all, here's the story,
I have been working on Win2K computers at work for about 7 months now. And I noticed that Winamp didn't always play the last song on CDs on the comps here. I had to open Win's CD player for the last song, which is kind of annoying. Untill last night I though it was just a problem with the DVD ROMs installed here. Same version of Winamp works fine at home, plays all songs, using an LG CD burner as my player. EXCEPT last night, which is when I ran Windows with the *default explorer shell* instead of the *LiteStep* shell I have been running for two years. Both here at work, and at home with LiteStep disabled, it generally refuses to play the last song on CDs that are over 70 minutes, maybe 65 minutes. Both store-bought "real" CDs and CDRs. Kind of strange it only wants to work correctly if LiteStep is active, something that few Winamp users would be likely to be using. Using Winamp 2.78, but this bug has been since a few versions ago. I can supply more info if requested. CD/DVD brand, active LiteStep modules, system specs.. etc. -Etienne |
Known problem with analog reading.
Replace the default analog CD plugin (in_cdda.dll) with the digital CDReader plugin. Be sure to read the readme.txt for instructions how to enable it. |

Thank you! :) It seems to have worked with a few CDs I know didn't work before. I'll install it at home as well when I get there.
Thanks again! -Etienne |
