ATTENTION! Anyone in need of ASPI drivers!
 
If you are using Windows 2000 and are trying to rip off of a CD or read directly from a CD, chances are you need ASPI drivers. These could be a little tricky to find considering Adaptec and Microsoft do not support ASPI drivers for Windows 2000 (as amazingly stupid as it may seem). The best solution is to use ForceASPI, which can also be tricky to find, but not impossible. The latest (and the last) version is 1.7 and it can be found by seaching for it at a search engine. I am amazed that Adaptec decided to support free ASPI layers in Win2k. It's almost unbelievable. I've first started looking around Nov of last year and found they refused to support it. It certainly took them long enough.
