You guys need to put together an idiot package that has the server program and the plugin together so that ppl know alot of times they go hand and hand!!

TSGH > How to set up an Internet Radio station and the instructions on Shoutcast.com. Is someone is to lazy or stupid to read all the available help on how to set a stream up then Shoutcast isn't for them. They should stick to shiny things, like Real One.

I didn't have very much trouble at all setting up shoutcast.

1. Muck around with sc_serv.ini (doesn't really need much mucking around save for the DSP password)
2. Muck around with YP info
3. Figure out that the sc_serv.ini password had to be the same as the DSP password
4. Connect DSP to server. Happy. At this point, inborn geekiness takes over...
5. Muck around with encoder settings.
6. Kludge YP IRC information to pop up a java applet box to chat on special irc server as opposed to shoutcast's
7. Kludge YP Genre information to link to playlist file
8. Muck around with Line Input and end up streaming counter-strike game to the net

Seriously, though, it did not take me a long time to get my stream going from the time of download. Kudos to the SC team to not making it nearly as dependent on the conf file *winces and thinks of Apache*
