8 years ago today one of the greatest musical geniuses (in my opinion) of this generation killed himself.
that was a great tragedy, he was only 27, and in that short a time he had already accomplished more than most people could hope to in a lifetime
he inspired many of the most popular bands to this day, he was the poster-child of waht would become alternative music
without him, the music industry would be a very different place

even almost a decade later his loss is still felt

I still remember the day it happened. MTV actually interrupted their programming to tell people about it. I think it was Tabitha Soren on the first broadcast. They kept scrolling it across the bottom of the screen all day.

It was truly a sad sad day. I was a huge follower of Nirvana and still have every album. I've got tapes too. Kurt Lives on through his music, sigh, I think I'll go fire up my walkman.

It still sickens me to think of it. I love Nirvana's music and Cobain's lyrics.

I can't even listen Nirvana anymore. Whenever I do, it makes me really depressed.

And now they're selling his private stuff for millions.

some ppl argue that he had too much of something in his bloodstream to be able to do this, though

it was becuase courtney love was such a fucking bitch and she drove him nuts.

I read somewhere that Courtney Love had actually hired someone to kill Kurt for her but the guy had refused, the guy was some biker. I don't remember where I read this but it seemed credible at the time. I had also seen a biogaraphy on Courtney Love and it backed my theory that she was quite deranged. I could never buy her act, but I know Kurt Cobain had been hospitalized before and it was only a matter of time before his time was up. Sad really, but I'm sure it was for the best.:(

kurt had been hospitalized before, a few months prior to the end he fell into a coma after mixing a few things he shouldn't have in too high amounts (champagne was involved in some way)

it's sad that someone who was so talented should feel that there was no way out other than to take his own life

In my opinion if he had died sooner, he would have made an even bigger name for himself.

I personally am not a fan of Nirvana. Although a coiuple of there tracks (such as Teen Spirit) are good, the rest seem to be too similar to me.

Damn. Nirvana was my first band that I really liked, too. It was like my gateway into music. They rocked, and still rock to this day. Kurt will never be forgotten. And Courtney love is a b****.

conspiracies and lies aside, he was a great musician, and is still missed. i have not downloaded any nirvana songs, to honour his memory, i have paid for each one.
