You need a real brain teazer

Two men are in a cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere. Both of them are dead. They are both innocent of homicide, they did not commit suicide, and they did not die of natural causes, disease, or other bodily malfunction. There is snow on the ground, and there are no foot prints in the snow, which rules out being killed by animals or other humans. How did they die?

starvation, but i dont know if that falls under bodily malfunction

papadoc 11th April 2002 02:29

An alien spaceship landed on the roof.
The little green men came down the chimney.
Using their kinetic brain waves, the two men dropped dead.
The little green men went back up the chimney.
They got in their spaceship and zoomed back into space.

The chimney may have something to do with it,
If there's snow on the ground there's snow on the roof.
So the chimney gets blocked and they die of cabon monoxide poisoning.

Carbon monoxide poisoning is a bodily malfunction.. the hemoglobin in your blood starts taking the monoxide molecus before the oxygen, and the hemoglobins all get matched up with monoxide leaving no room for the oxygen to be absorbed. There is no more CO2 comming out, therefore the control center in the brain turns off any breathing and well... you die.. sumthing i learnt in bio last week... lol :D

Okay, just a few comments:

1. Please answer only with conventional answer...so that excludes
aliens.

2. There is no chimeny (this actually more of a hint though)

3. The snow is somewhat normal...not enough to cause structural
failure.

4. Starvation was a good guess but is incorrect. I don't believe it
falls under bodily malfunction though. The problem with
starvation is it is too obvious.

5. I would not consider CO poisoning a bodily malfunction because it
isn't like a heart attack or stroke.

They crashed in a plane accident and died in the cabin.

Omit Name 11th April 2002 02:53

eh... ah well i found the answer on google anyway

tiger84 11th April 2002 02:56

Okay, looking up the answer is cheating and proves you can't think for yourself and if you already knew the answer...you just ruined the suspense for everyone else.

I`ll try a legal argument. They killed each other, but are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. This just came to me; they are making a bomb and it accidently detonates.
