dynamic deleting!

Ok,

You know how when you have songs in your playlist and you hear a song you dont like so you click on the song and click delete, the song dissapears from the playlist in winamp but its still on your hard drive.

I want to make it so that if i delete a song in winamp, it gets deleted off my hard drive (thats what i call dynamic deleting)...

Is there any way to do that with the older non-beta version of winamp?

if not

Is there a plugin i can download to do that?

if not

Is there a program external from winamp that i can download to do that?

Hope someone can answer me, thanks!

Why?... Because my freind (who has a similar taste in music) sent me 1.3gigs worth of mp3's and i want to play them and delete all the songs that i dont like and keep the ones that i do like.

Playlist -> REM button -> Misc -> Physically delete selected file(s)

uuuuuummmmm

do i have to do that for every single file i want to delete physically? is there a way to make it so that when you hit delete it deletes the file physically?

Is there a keyboard shortcut to deleting files permanently?

Is that the only way?

Not really. You can highlight all the files that you want to remove from the playlist (Hold down the CTRL key while clicking on them with the mouse). When you have all the files that you want removed selected, go to the bottom of the playlist window and click on

REM -> Misc -> Physically delete selected file(s)

The files that you highlighted should be physically deleted.

Not really, no. And anyways, it's a very bad idea. What happens if you highlight all your playlist, and hit the button accidentally. You'd be pretty much screwed.

No, for the same reason as above. And we'd be inundated with people posting "Where did my music go???" after accidentally hitting the keyboard shortcut.

In winamp, yes. You can delete them as you normally would in Windows Explorer.

but...

The whole purpose of deleting the files is deleting the songs i dont like RIGHT after listening to them, therefore the select the files you want to delete then doing that shortcut wont work for me.

I want to be able to delete a song directly after i listen to it and decide i dont like it...

Im guessing there is no way to do that from the responses i got :\

am i correct?

yes you are..though it wouldn't be a very hard plugin to create

...perhaps someone will make a quick plug-in after reading this thread
