Interesting how they say "St. George's day in the UK" - I don't see many Scots or Welshmen celebrating it. :)

Also, if St. George's day celebrations are confined to merry olde England, the country of which he was the patron saint, then why is it not the same for St. Patrick?

St. George is the patron saint of many countries and he probably wasn't English but more likley Greek or something (I forget, it he definatly didn't come from england). Am I right in saying he's the patron saint of Canada too or am I mad?

According to a site I found through Google.ca the patron saints of Canada are

St. Anne and St. Joseph
