optimizing dsl upload/download speed for shoutcast server?

is there a way to tweak my connection settings so that i can give up some downstream to make my upstream higher?
my friends and i are planning to run a shoutcast station during summer vacation...
my upload speed right now is about 324 and it can support about 12 listeners at 24kbps bitrate... i think that's about the number of expected listeners.. but the quality will be kinda... sucky...
or... is there someone who can host me..? :)

this question could certainly be better answered by your isp.

Finding free bandwidth is akin to finding a $100 bill in the gutter. I'm sure it exists somewhere but your probably going to have a tough time finding it.

Some (afforbable) solutions are:
Live365 (never used.)
StreamGuys (used before. good service.)
AlinQ (currently use.)

I could help you setup a shell so you can run a very small amount of users from your computer and the others jump over to my server once your max users fills up. If you have any problems or need help, just email me! I check my email a few times a day and also work technical support for my business. support@thehostingspot.com
