My Mp3's playback with a cracklly sound.
 

Here's the deal. If you can help me out I would be very greatful. I am currently using winamp 2.8 and love it. The only problem is that when I play songs they have craklly or choppy sound, its actually a distortion but Im not sure why its happening. Ive messed around with volume controls and the equalizer but not sure what Im doing. Any one want to help a complete computer idiot gain a little computer knowledge?

second give us a clue to your specks it could be a hard wear prob or maby a bad install try reinstaling it.

Is the bitrate of your mp3 low? The recording of it may have been messed up. Have you tried playing any other mp3s instead of just one?

Do you have your equalizer turned up to +20db?

I had a problem like this at one point. Here are a few things to try

1) Turn the volume on winamp down low (15-20%) and use your speakers volume control to make the music louder.

2) Make sure the Pre-Amp slider on the Eq is @ 0dB or lower.

If this doesn't solve your problem I'm sure someone else here can help you out.
