Skin Competition
 

Hi everybody

Let me start by apologising if this post in any way violates any rules of the forum, it is not my intention to do so :)

I allways been a big WINAMP fan, so we are doign a friendly contest in our small design community to see who can come up with the best skin for winamp, there are some prizes, but the main point was for everybody to have some fun.

So I woudl be very honored if any of those great Skin Artists here would consider joining us on this one :)

I have to say that's one funky website design. /me wants Winamp forums to look like that :D

Anyway, I'm busy right now, but I'm sure you'll find a few willing volunteers among us. All I can say is, bring them back in one piece please.

Can i submit somthing i'm already working on? If not you'll have to give me about 4 - 5 months to make a whole new skin. It takes alot of time using MSPaint.

You need to adjust your new user email thingy coz it gave me a wacko activation URL. Luckily, I used my superior intellect to hack one together all of my own :D

i cant take part as skinning for anyone but my employers or myself is a breach of contract :(, but thats a nice forum style youve got going :)

Thats a real nice webdesign. Forum design is cool too.. souns like a cool contest, il try it if i get some time.... but im doing a lot of programming with a few skins on the side right now. I hope atmo tries for this! although hes prob a bit busy these days... lol

hey crego. i registered for you forum, but i still can't post. it says i'm logged in though...

hey nova/gsx. i figured out whats wrong. the site changed servers. when you click on the activation link, it takes you to the old server, which displays a link to the new server and never activates your account. what you need to do is take the end of the url in the link and go to that page on the new server. worked for me

No point in bothering them =) they have better things to do. All i really lose is my post count, and that really doesnt mean that much.

what about a remake of the site and a skin to go with?

I would join the comp, but the World Cup is on all June, so I don't know if I'll have time.

I believe the skin hqs to be submitted by the 4th of july.

That is correct .. Now, you guys are the experts at skinning, is that date unreasonable ?, should we give people more time ?

Well, it's not enough time for me, since I won't be able to start it until at least late June. But please don't change it on account of me, because even the deadline were moved, I could still not guarantee that I'd participate. However, it would be cool to try doing a site-based skin. I wonder how many of the skins will end up looking very similar.

I realised the Prize was not appealing to those who dont' have much use for it, so If you check the contest now, you will see there is a $money$ option instead :D

It looks like arial but its squashed..I was able to replicate it doing that anyways..
