Star Trek Bridge Commander
Ok, Im very early into the missions, but I cant seem to find a way to use the tractor beams to stop Karoon. They always end up smashing into the meteor before the tractor gets into range. Any suggestions?
|
ive never played it, but i can think of 1 or 2 things:
try a photon torpedo, make it explode near the meteor, pushing it away, or try a phaser to do something to it.. |
No weapons targeted towards friendly targets. The only action I can think of is the tractor beam. If only I knew how to use it.:(
[edit]And I dont trust those Klingon bastards to help me either.[/edit]:p |
hrm.. how about beaming them out?
try several shuttle crafts and beaming them out. unless there are too many. Or see if you can get the ppl on the ship to use their weapons and blast the meteor... |
I dont know what you mean by 'shuttle crafts'. Also, Karoon is down to using their emergency energy source. If they could blast the meteor themselves, they wouldn't be in that predicament.
|
|
Hmmmm, maybe but I cant find the command for them anywhere.
|
A good strategy in any video game is to simply blast anything that moves with your hypermegasuper quasiproton Death-Ray of Doom (or whatever the equivalent most powerful weapon is in the game you are playing).
|
Yes, rm', but the Karoon is a friend, you have no choice to aid them or otherwise you are inspected and de-captainized.
|
full cavity search? ;)
|
is the metor closer? try using the tractor beam on it
|
tractor beam
You have to be within 15 km to use the tractor beam. To activate it, just click on the "tractor off" button, just below the photon torpedo spread buttons.
I love that game! |

El Capitan has arrived on the bridge! |
Do what always happens when the shit hits the fan on Star Trek....
"Computer, end holodeck program" Should do the trick. Failing that, fall in love with an exotic alien woman, look all mournful when you realise your gene pool isn't compatible with her's, finish of with a "If only ...." type look on your face..... |
Also, never forget... the power... of a... longWindedSpeech ...

I cant get within distance. They keep saying that its a friendly target...do you know the actual commands for it patroclus??
|
you should be able to lock on, if you are having trouble, have you gotten the patch ? you also have to come to a complete stop when you do lock on, or the Karoon will just start moving in the same direction and speed as you. the toggle for the tractor beam is in the tactical display, below the toggle for the torpedoes. I think there is also a method of telling your tactical office to lock onto the target with a tractor beam, but I never let him fight for me, so I don't know how to do that. to get close enough, tell you helm officer to intercept the Karoon. you might also want to boost power to the engines to get there faster.
|
goto brex tell him to divert weapon power to engines
goto helm tel her to intersept the karroon goto weapons and click the tractor toggle SPOILER prepair for the warbird to retern |
Ummmmmmmmmm, hmmmmmmmmmmm, that just may be what I needed. I'll try it now. Thanks for the patch BMWboy.:)
|
I'll warn you ahead of time, the ending to that game is just a tad disappointing. But it's sure fun getting there!:)
|
Alright!! It worked...but now I have even bigger problems;)...I cant disable the ship involved with weapon smuggling...not enough time...damn damn damn:mad:
|
I think that L33t Force is pretty darn good and ive heard good things about Bridge Commander.
Shame the graphics arent so good though :( |
:/
Damn it Jim, I`m a doctor, not a gfx artist.
|
you don't need to touch the impulse engines. in fact, its better if you don't touch them at all. just take out the warp engines. boost power to enginges (more speed) and weapons(better recharge rate) if you are farther out than 50, tell your helm to intercept. use torpedoes to deal with the shields, and phasers set to low power along with photons to deal with the warp engines. once the bar turns grey, launch anothe salvo of torps, and then move to the next engine.

ROTFLMAO...

|
great game I love taking on sunbusters in the quick game
|
Try taking on the Federation Sovereign....way too strong to take alone....but never, never trust those Klingon bastards and those Cardassian mutts.
|
Trek Me...
Star Trek is lame. I can't stand it, I know i'm offending millions of people, but I HAD TO SAY IT. Be nice now... :p
|
Didnt your momma ever tell you, "If you have't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"??
|
Yeah...
Hey, leave my mom outta this, and then i'll leave this, [pointing to p*n*s], outta your mom... Just kidding. I guess it's cuz i'm a bit younger, star trek was never my thing. I don't even like star wars.

I'm a more realistic person...
Look at my av, look at my sig, rap. I like to focus on the real things in life. Rap deals with real issues. My favorite movies are The Fast and the furious, Training Day, American Pie. I like things that really happen, or can happen. When I play games, i look for something I can't really do, but that could really happen. Grand theft auto is the s**t. Tony Hawks, I can't skateboard but I think doing it virtually is fun. Be real, who wants to get hit with a ligh sabre now, wouldn't you rather get a bullet? :)
|
LOL. I don't know what's funnier in this thread: Xerxes and Mr. Jones dialogue, or the fact that the first post offering advice was by someone who never played the game. :D

And when you think about it, it would be better to be hit with a lightsaber. Instant cauterization of the wound means minimal blood loss and minimal chance of infection. Shock from trauma is still an issue, but it pales in comparison to hemmoraging and infection. Now, a typical gsw does not instantaneously cauterize, bleeds profusely (especially when they clip arteries), and leaves the internal tissues open to infection. I've seen plenty of gsw's from living most of my life in and around an inner-city hospital, and I assure you the lightsaber wound would be better. :) And sci-fi such as Star Trek and Star Wars does serve a valid purpose: taking us away from reality. When I watch Star Wars, I get to forget that there are four major drug dealers within a block radius of my house. I get to forget the double-homicide that happened 2 streets over. |
Two different people...
Unlike you, i don't try to get away from reality, I try to do the best I can to change it. Although I know I could nvr change the world of violence and things completely, i try to better understand it. Drugs and guns are too easily obtained, you know that, and I know what happens when s**t goes bad, if reality was so boring and uneventful, than my imagination and fantasy side would come up more, but there is lots too keep me busy, and alot of REAL things to deal with, so there is no time for chewbacca...
