is it just me...
...or is that right click disabling script fucking annoying! i was just at a site that had it. can someone explain to me wtf the point of it is? cuz it doesn't stop you from stealing images. its just a pain cuz you can't hit back or refresh.
|
Yup its quite annoying.
If you really wanna use the back buttons you should get Opera. No need to rightclick. |
yeah but the new oprah has major security issues
|
it all just gives the webmaster a false sense of security. that's right, lull him to sleep while we sneak up behind him with clubs...
|
All you have to do is hold down the right mouse button then, while holding the button down, press enter. Then let go of the mouse button after pressing enter then presto, right click.
|
If you are adamant about leeching, create a webpage with a link to the page with the anti-leech script. Open up this webpage in your browser, right click, and "Save link as..."
Then you can just view the source, and get the addresses to the images, linked files, and so forth. |
or i could just hit View/Source on the toolbar.
|
Scripts like that are designed to stop people stealing your original images. I think they are good.
|
but they dont stop anyone. (well they stop some people, but not many) they're just a pain in the ass

Do the scripts stop someone from hitting the "Print Screen" key and them pasting into a graphics editor? If it doesn't (and the picture fits on the screen) it's totally useless.
This was taken from metallica.com, They've been using many different techniques to keep you from DLing their pictures for quite a while. Their current technique is using a flash viewer. |

Or, do it the IE 6 way dam said or, take a screen shot and crop in MS paint (or other program) or, save the webpage as html and get the file in one of the folders Or, drag and drop the pic into MS paint (or other program) |

Nobody can defeat the Print Screen on your keyboard.
The only way to truly prevent image grabbing is watermarks ala corbis. |
no right-click is useless. all you need to do is highlight the image, and then control+c. and then there's the temp internet files folder...
