The darling child of international football
Senegal are through to the semifinals after offing Sweden. Wow... what a game. 2-1, won in the 14th minute of overtime. It started off really slow, but once they got into overtime, there was a great deal of action. Sweden put up a good fight, and even seemed to dominate the game.
Senegal has a weak defence (as evidenced by the first goal by Sweden... there was barely any opposition, and holes everywhere), and have a hard time bringing the ball forward. But once they manage to get into the penalty box... the Senegalese, like most third-worlders, have excellent ball control. They really know how to put the moves on. The second goal, in fact, was a one man rush. Camara deked out 3 defensemen, and dipped the ball right in. They play either Japan or Turkey next. They have a good chance of at least third place, seeing how neither of those teams are all to particularly strong. |
This match was held at 3pm japan time in the south of japan, thus giving senegal a big advantage, as africans are much better in the heat than the swedes.
Also, they are through to the quarter finals, not the semis. All the possible matches remaining for senegal are evening matches, which will remove the heat advantage. If they win their next match, they will meet england, brazil or belgium |
i said it before and i'll say it again - Go Senegal!!!!!!
|
Don't you mean the Quarter finals RM, as this round being played at the moment is only the last 16.
Still, its a good result for Senegal. |
This is almost unbearable...
