Amazing Graphics

Lately ive been trying lots of demos seeing what good graphics my crappy Geforce 2 MX 400 64MB can churn up and it's done not to bad at all..

I went to the Nvidia website and I was blown aback by this image which I then used as my background.

The point of this thread is for you all to post images that you consider as good graphics. (like screenshots from games etc).
It can be from a website like i found mine too. I'd quite like to see how technology has progressed graphics wise from graphics that are all squary (eg. Half Life).
Thanks :)

(The image had to be scaled down from 1280 x 1024 so it may not look to good)

Inatlantis, you can make the text for your desktop icons transparent by downloading Effective Desktop from Ministars software.

Press Printscreen (PrtScn on some keyboards). Its near the right hand side of your keyboard. Then copy the image into paint or something.

Thanks rm! :)

rm' 19th June 2002 18:57

Next to Scroll Lock on your keyboard, you will find a button labeled something like
code:

Prt Scrn
SysRQ

It depends from keyboard to keyboard, but it will be something like that. Press it. Open up an image editing program (such as MSPaint, Irfanview, or Photoshop). Press CTRL+C

WOW

Methinks that graphics will be so realistic soon that you wont be able to tell the difference between real humans and graphics

pixiefied 19th June 2002 19:21

:(

Trigear 19th June 2002 19:25

soon...

pixified is waiting for that day so her avatar can fill out and stuff....

rm' 19th June 2002 19:37

I don't know... I liked that stylistic difference between old school CGI, and traditional photography. Things such as Toy Story were breakthroughs not because they imitated life, but because they created a new kind of life.

pixiefied 19th June 2002 19:40

here

i wish i had a web page...this sucks:(

The real people are the ones that aren't on your computer screen. :p

rm' 20th June 2002 03:55

Seems like a good enough time to whip this out again.....

Give it a couple of years and id be surprised if you could tell the difference between a real picture of a human and computer graphics :p

buddy139913 20th June 2002 15:18

That won't be good, when u can't tell the difference.

Once again rm' unsuccessfully tries to deny allagations of wolfbeastiality.

Exactly! Think about it, people use computer graphics will be able to make fake security cameras (for example) or incriminate innocent people!!!

Sandman2012 24th June 2002 21:18

OMG, tabloids might be able to fake photos!!!!!

Yeah!! This will bring strange twists to the world we live in!

It will probably mean that video clips will become unreliable and so will images in the newspaper (as you suggested).

I wonder how we will all deal with this....

any ideas?
