how do i remove those damn customized folders? somehow the root of my drive is set to the Music type, and every time I open the drive it searches for all the music files, which slows my computer way down.

yes, but you can't change the customized folder settings for the root of the drive...

look for a file called desktop.ini and delete it. It is a hidden system file and it might be in the root directory.
