First strange emails, now this....
 

Most of us have had strange emails from people that have got our email adresses from winamp.com/devart/1001 etc....They go nicely with all the klez infected emails..:p

But earlier today this guy added me to his msn contacts list. Thinking he may have been somone i knew i allowed it, but because it was on the account that i only use for submitting skins i thought it was a bit weird. Turns out he got my email adress from one of the sites my skins were published at, and instead of emailing me thought he'd just use messenger instead. All he wanted was to know which programs i used to make my skins, so i gave him some info and he went on his way...

This is the second time something like this has happened to me. The first time was about a month ago. Similar scenario, except he wanted a skinner.exe. After giving him links to a few of the better known skinners, the guy wouldnt stop bugging me, so he got blocked.

I just thought it was pretty creepy.

Nope. But I did get this e-mail from some guy asking if he could download one of my skins. I found that quite odd since there's no need to ask for permission to download a skin from a site.

No, not really. Not with skinners anyway.

The "Banned F***wit was all over me. PMing me and wanting to IM me and put his name on my buddy list and everything. His name went on my buddy list, all right...right under "Blocked Buddies." :D

Hasn't happnened to me, but if it did, I wouldn't treat it much differently than if it was via e-mail - just another way of contacting you, and just as easy to block further messages. I've only had that sort of email once or twice - asking how to make skins. I gave them a few pointers - but I really hate it when people don't email back to say thankyou. You don't know if they took your advice, or if you totally wasted your time, or what. I suppose, in this respect, I might even prefer for them to reach me via MSN.

Quite often I find in my Inbox hate mail for my skins, along the lines of....

"JenNNY MCareFFY Suxors, Y dId U BUIld a LamEr skinzzz"

Often these come from the highest order of internet user, AOL sign ups, you know the ones.... IaMgOd@aol.con etc etc.

See now the thing about your average AOL user, is whenever they sign on line, their AOL Instant messenger also signs on right away, and guess what the on screen user name is....yep 99% of the time the same as their mail address......

Many a fun time I've had on AIM scaring the shit out of some of the wankers who think it's funny to clog my mail box up with their illiterate shite that they like to pass off as intellegent comments.

I got something like that last week, subject was skin related, but when I read the mail all it read was an icq number and a phonenumber. so I just deleted it, never even responded, if you can't be bothered to even say hi, I can't be bothered to respond.

i never get emails like this....

i guess people dont like me :D:D:D

lately I don't seem to get e-mails at all from people taht are not in my addressbook. :D

i added someone i didnt know to my msn, talked for a bit and eventually he hacked into my account, reset the password etc, so i coudlnt get back in.

i think his name was 'broken star'? im not absolutely sure.. so watch out for these d/heads.

I don't get spam or junk mail or anything, once I checked my e-mails and I swear I saw a dustball roll past.

I don't know how much "fan" mail i get. I'm deleting my inbox on a daily basis ;) :rolleyes: (stupid virii)
But I've gotten "how do i make a skin?" mails a few times. I doubt that most of these ppl are serious about it.

I put down my yahoo address with my skins. It fills up every day to 7 megs with crap virus email. Arggh. "Rita Wyans" seems to be the email name of choice recently.

i either havent been doing it long enough or people dont liek my skns enough :D

only thing ive gotten was a nice comment on devart, somebody took the time to send me something saying they hope i do more skins heh, thats all :)

but froms the looks of things im not entirelysure i want fan mail, being as how you guys get viruses and hate mail, guess it isnt worth it :)

I got an email once from a girl who wanted to know how to skin.I actually replied.The only fanmail ive ever replied to.She added me to her contact list,I taught her how to skin,one thing led to another and ......
