Converting audio cd's to mp3's
What's a good program to use to pull songs from audio cd's and convert them to mp3's? I tried AudioWriter, but it's slow as hell...it takes around 20 minutes to convert an average song. Is there a program that's significantly faster?

http://www.maz-sound.com/cd-rippers.html Contains all the major rippers. CDEX seems to be the most popular.

cdex kicks ass! i don't know how fast it will be, since i don't know what you'r computer's like, by it takes just a couple min. per song, and it tags everything well too . . . and it does oggs, which are better than mp3 in my opinion

there . . . 2 simultaneous recommendations for cdex ought to do it . . .

winamp>options>preferences>disk writer>configure will give you at most a 56kbs mp3, and this also does the job, now go away

windows media player with the mp3 creation pack! downloads the song info automatically, creates new folders, woot!
and yes, flame me :P |
The latest beta of CDEX rocks. It still misses some of EAC's best features but it rocks :D

Yeah, CDex is the best. I stopped using it for a little because of a little problem where the encoded files disappeared/never appeared. But nothing I found was as good as CDex. I fixed the problem just by reinstalling it. And it's free unlike many rippers.
