sorry for the multiple posts in 1 day, but i am f'n lost.

This winamp thing is great and all, but how do i get an ip thing, a server thing, and all that other stuff. I have everything set, all i need is to be able to make my station go live.

If somebody can help me out with that, it would be great and I would be very happy.

to find youre ip thingy: goto http://www.dslreports.com/whois and click on the your ip address button
for:
win 95-ME, click the start, click run-and type in winipcfg-hit enter,
goto whatever your network card is-and you will see a list of thingys we call ip's, yours is the one labeled IP Address.
for:
win nt3-5(win2000, and 2000pro) hit start-run, type cmd, at the command prompt type ipconfig, hit enter, you will have your current ip address.

the server thing can be found at www.shoutcast.com, you need the DNAS for win32

the dsp plugin can be found at shoutcast as well-

both of them have very easy to read README files, and both have a ton of support for them, read the readmes, and than the sc_serv.conf files and if you have any other questions, post again

ok, so despite the fact everybody says its free, i still gotta pay for my domain name to have the radio station?

paul@sandynpaul 6th July 2002 15:17

no lol, you dont have to have a domain name to have a shoutcast server-just an ip address-those are free(it comes with your internet access (i.e. http://68.112.70.186:8000/ is my server, and thats just my computer at home)

 I hate all this ip and proxy stuff, I goto the Medina County Career Center for Computer Assisted Drafting, not Computer Programing. But hey man, if you have aim, yahoo, or msn and could walk me through this stuff, it would great. Cause, im about ready to go buy one of those computers for dummies books. :hang:

whats up wit dat?

DJ AmPs 6th July 2002 18:01

You have to set your password in the sc_serv.ini file! If you haven't set it (which I assume) just type changeme into the password box.
