Is it possible to make other areas transparent?
I am trying to make the areas like PAUSPLAY.bmp, NUMBERS.bmp, MONOSTER.bmp, POSBAR.bmp, and some of the other smaller areas transparent. I tried to search for an answer to this question, but none of them talk about making these specific areas transparent, only about the MAIN.bmp and a few others. I am new to skinning and am doing pretty good so far, but it would make my life _a lot_ easier if somebody could help me out this bit of information. Thanks in advance.

you can crop files to make them transparent. for example, on the volume, you can crop out the bottom of the bmp where the sliders are. then no sliders will show up on your skin. what i like to do for playpause is just crop it down to a 1x1 square.

Ok. I understand what you are saying, and that's pretty useful most of the time. I didn't know you could do that, thank you. My biggest problem right now, and I am sure there are going to me more, is that I would like to make the area around the numbers in NUMBERS.bmp clear. Is there any way I could do that? Thanks again.

Whatever is transparent in the region.txt will be totally transparent - regardless of how the other files (numbers.bmp, playpaus.bmp etc.) look.
However, you can't make each individual digit transparent, which is what I suspect you are trying to do. Have a look at the attachment. |
Doh! The not possible was exactly what I wanted to do. =(
Ok, thank you for your help anyways. -Virt |
Well, the 'not possible' is actually possible, but it won't work.
You can make the '0' opaque and the surroundings (and hole) transparent. The bad news is that the exact same areas will be transparent/opaque when the '0' changes to '1', '2', or any other number: the transparent regions are static, they don't change when the numbers (or any other component) change. |

Yeah, but I thought that was obvious, since no one would want to do such a thing. See attachment.....

Alright, thank you guys. ;)
