I was just today informed of the best way yet I have seen to save mp3 streams without winamp, and the best way to save streams on 56k's ment for highspeed modems.

All you need is GetRight. The best download resumer in the WORLD! Yeah, I guess any downloading program would work. But fuck that! USE GETRIGHT!

If using shoutcast.com for streaming.... right click on the "tune in" button and save the file. open the pls file you just saved in your favorite text editor. next to were it says FILE2 copy the url... you usually don't want to copy the url next to FILE1 as it will more likely be clogged with traffic. Next, open up GetRight. Under File/Enter New URL, paste the url you have just copied. Press "OK" and a save window will pop up.. save the file as a mp3, not an html file (as it defaults to. Then download for as long as you want, and then stop the download whenever. Go open the mp3 file you just saved and have a good time listening. :)

however, shoutcast only buffers so much info for slow connections, so watch as your music suddenly skips forward as shoutcast no longer has the piece of audio from 5 minutes ago.

yeah sure, it will work if you are saving streams that were meant for your connection, but not otherwise.

and of course, this being the case, streamripper does a way better job.

A decent browser(eg. Opera) will do exactly the same as GetRight.
