Winamp 3 release
 

I know this is kinda stupid, but Winamp 3 final will be out after 2.99 correct???

at the first when the first alpha came out I always thought they will introduce wa3 after 2.99 it just made sense at the time

hmmm when they are going to be seperate product lines - maybe they should rename it

Winamp 2: Winamp Light
Winamp 3: Winamp Media Player

But then again, if they do that, they wont have mp3 as part of the name...soooo:

Winamp 2: Winamp Classic
Winamp 3: Winamp3

It would allow more flexibility to further develop it if need be (after 2.99 you're kinda stuck, and 2.99 sounds dumb anyway ;) :rolleyes: :p )

to see it logical:

when Winamp3 gets final, Winamp2 must become a Wa3 to improve it's own life. So then Wa2 only remains a last solution to pre 2k users with slooooow going computers...

And just to point out to you.. after winamp 2.99 is released there will be winamp 2.100 or 2.99a for that matter..

The linux kernel is in its 2.4.x series too.. but they are still maintaining and updating the 2.0 and 2.2 series.

Windows XP is out.. But they are still maintaining and updating Windows 98 and ME .. and maybe even Windows 95.....

WA3 will be released WHENEVER IT IS READY... not after 2.99 is released. GET IT THROUGH YOUR SKULL!

I think Winamp 2 should stay until Winamp 4 is in production. lol, if that will happen. By then computers will be so fast and maybe 64 bit. Winamp 2 will no longer be needed. 3 will take its place.


And about Winamp Media Player, we have a conflict. WMP, Windows Media Player. Microsoft will be all over you if you even think about that. Those bastards.
