Mudvayne, schweet!

I just found out that Mudvayne comes from my hometown. I think there's another band called Snotrocket that also does, and I don't know if they're the same band that plays on the Metal Militia cd, but I don't have any real good way of finding out.

So... what the heck does Mudvayne sing? I've heard of them, but they look like either they ripped off Slipknot, or vice versa. I don't think I know a single one of their songs though.

Anyway, it's cool to find out that someone famous came from your own dull hometown!

Thats pretty cool. Kevin Costner is from my hometown. He used to be famous, until that "Water World" movie came out.

Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam all came from the Seattle area (which is very close to Kent, where I live.)

A lot of ska bands have come out of Orange County California, which is not too far from where I live. I don't think any cool bands have come out of Ontario, Ca., though.

The Monoxides came from a small town in Atlantic Canada where I lived for a short period of time. And while Avril Lavigne lives on the other side of town (well, more like what Long Island is to Newark), I saw her shopping at my local mall. Buncha folks come from Toronto. Can't claim anywhere to be my hometown though; I'm more of a vagrant :hang:

I'm right smack in the middle of Orange County - There's just something about the place that makes people want to color their hair real ugly and sing to drum and brass ensembles. ;)

I believe the Ska music could also possibly be due to the sheer number of skaters we have now- the music a direct result of falling on ones head one to many times :p

mudvayne are a very technically competent nu(ish)-metal band- try getting the songs "dig" or "nothing to gein". they're the popular songs, although a lot of the other songs on their album show that they are not just the usual slipknot-style band, they have a penchant for changing time signature and other such clever musical things. they're not as loud as a lot of people think, either (they released "dig", a heavy song, as their single). i saw them supporting one minute silence (fantastic uk band) in glasgow a while back. and they were apparently doing the facepaint thing well before slipknow came out with their masks. i would check into them ripping off kiss, though.

risingson (ok, so they're not exactly popular or anything) come from my home town, and idlewild come from where i live. the proclaimers are from nearby, too.

Charles Barkley is from Leeds, which is a suburb of Birmingham, Alabama. Both Michael Jordan & Bo Jackson played for our minor league baseball team, the Barons.

i would have paid you good money to kill her. my sister listens to that shit and it annoys me to no end.

Jerry Springer lived in my neighborhood while he was mayor of cincinnati. i was at a party with him once (albeit i was 10 months old). some other people have come out of here too.

Macy Gray lived 45 minutes south of me and Drew Carey is based here...

Bizznatch 26th July 2002 01:20

Carson Daly and Smash Mouth are from San Jose which is where I live, Rancid is from Campbell, which is the city I work in. There are some other bands from around here (Greenday: Palo Alto, NUFAN: Sunnyvale, Monster Magnet: Santa Clara) also. And shitloads from San Fran.

BTW, no offence, but I think MudVayne sucks. :blah:

Robert Plant (Lead singer of Led Zeppelin) was born in a small town near me, and is almost a big a fan of Wolverhampton Wanderers (soccer club) as I am.
