ever since I finished my last skin, I've started on half a dozen new skins, but I can't get anything past the layout stage. Anyway I started on this one yesterday, figured if all else fails might as well do another star wars skin.

Looks pretty good so far, the borders a little blurry though.

Make different colour variants, blue, yellow, red, orange, then you can call them "something something - Attack of the clones":D

Great EQ-vis! Would be great to see more of that sort of thing, like in the monoster, for example....

Something seems not right with the transition between the border and the green part - I don't know if it's the shape, or the sharpness, or what. But something seems not right with it...

I know the eqvis is cool, cause I ripped that image from the star wars website, now if only we could persuade those ILM guys to make star wars skin :p

Its looking great. I'd keep it simple with the titlebar buttons, perhaps some small bevelled squares that match the color of the border.

did some work on the equalizer, my first idea was to just copy these sliders so I did, then I tried to do something more like the volumebar with a gradient from the bottom to the button but I couldn't get the horizontal stripe pattern right, then after about two hours I remembered that some frames are used more then once so there was no way to get it right, and I had just wasted two hours trying to get it right :(
so now I'm back to my first idea.

maybe I'll give it another go tommorow, cause these don't look right either

I like the skin, except that I'm not too fond of the green tint to the clones...

I know the original sliders matched the skin better, but I can't get them to look completly right, so I made new sliders, anyways I'm not done yet with the main window, so maybe I can make some elements to match the equalizer

flatmatt I made the troopers a bit transparant hence the green tint, cause IMO the white of their armours was just a bit too bright, plus it blends them into the background a bit, so they don't look like they're stuck on

I done like the new sliders. The old ones were better. Are you sure you cant get them to look right?

genuine, old-fashioned, doctor approved, sexually active, slightly tipsy, 5 fruits a day goodness. :igor:. could lose the green tint (as has been mentioned). Other than that, it doesn't look too shabby :D. at all.

Kinda got the feeling I'm stuck, can't get a good idea for the monoster, tried a couple of things but they all suck.
I'm thinking of having another go at those equalizer sliders cause you guys don't like the current ones but I don't really want to, I actually kinda like these ones, but I have to agree the other ones would match the rest of the skin better, I'm not touching the troopers though. Cbuttons seem to be missing something, they're a bit plain.

anyway it would probably best if I gave this skin a bit of a rest, and pick it up again next week or so, of course in the meantime any suggestions are welcome.

not bad. i like the lime green.. but im not sure i like the borders ;)

I think the borders are dandy.. making them too sharp would be weird. The brightest green parts (Top of the clutterbar, right below the Eq buttons, in the monoster) are too, um.. bright. The Cbuttons seem fine to me.. they look nice and creative.

No. I was gonna download this until you changed the eq sliders. The previous ones fit the style of the skin better. They fit the style of Star Wars better. They were furuturistic, energetic, plasmatic, light. The new ones are blocky fuckups. Sorry for the harshness... but you gotta go back to the original sliders. Pleeeeeeeease. Hmm, what couldn't you get to work about them?

since everybody hates the equalizer I'll definatly give it another go and try to work it out, but not today

i am not bothered either way on the eq sliders, but, as i said before, the skin looks quite good :)

Actually, I prefer the new sliders. They seem to have more substance, and I think that maybe you should adapt some of the MAIN to them.

right so I gave it another go, not sure this looks any better though, it does match the volume and posbar better, while keeping the general look of the last sliders. let me know what you think about either of these, personally I'm leaning to the left one

Hmmm, I really don't like that extra thick pixel in the sliders. I know it's supposed to look like a grip, but it's just not doing it for me. Out of those, I prefer the top side (the smooth side) of the left.

I like the one on the left. The eq looks a lot better now.

Here's another update, for some reason I started on the playlist it's actually the first time I started on a playlist without finishing the main and equalizer, looks like I'm all over the place with this skin.

anyway I had some trouble with it cause of the tiling, but I think I got it to look alright in the end

hehe, that's the only way I've ever made skins. When I get a bit stuck on the Main, I start doing the EQ, and then when I get stuck on that, I move to the PL. Then half-way through the MB I think "damn, I hate that balance.bmp, I better change it". Then after the AVS, I say "Better do those fricken EQ bars and windowshades now..." :D

Those stacks look promising (especially the list-load/save/new stack) :up:. Hmmm, can you fit a kneeling or breast-up picture of a trooper in the stretchy PL box? A trooper in each window might be cool.

The cbuttons aren't very exciting :(

Voici, NIS style: always late, and with contradictory opinion. :rolleyes:

I preferred the EQ on the right, without the smooth gradient. It just looks more like a computer, especially a computer from Star Wars (i.e. the 1970s interpretation of what a computer of the future would look like).

Does that make any sense? No? Good. :igor:

I'd like to see more of the Main look "computery" by perhaps removing the soft green from the Cbuttons, the gradient from the clutterbar and the soft mono/stereo button.

Other than that, I maintain my current conviction: this skin is faaaantabulous. :up:

I think the titlebar/border could do with more work, too, Tough guy. Perhaps making it symmetrical (rather than wider where the \//\X is and narrower on the left side) - and maybe making the corners of the border curve in a softer way.

the main window still needs a lot of work, I'm definatly gonna change the monoster, and I'm not entirely happy with the clutterbar and the Cbuttons, but I don't know what to do with them.

as for the border I'm gonna keep it as it is for now, this is the first time I've ever tried anything like this, and while I know it doesn't look 100% right, I don't think I will get it 100% right. maybe I will tinker with it again when the rest of the skin is done, but for now I'm happy with it

I'm gonna keep the equalizer as they are right now (the left one) it's a compromise but IMHO it looks better

there's a breast-up pic of a trooper on the playlist vis area, and there's gonna be one in the MBinner, though I don't think I'll be able to squeeze on in on the AVS, but most windows will have a trooper somewhere
