NO NO NOOOOO!!!! >:( I swear to god!

I have a freakin 533mhz computer and I cannot use winamp 3 with desktop alpha on or it screeeetches to a halt. But I CAN use opacity fine without any big problems! BUT NOW I CANT USE OPACITY WITHOUT HAVING DESKTOP ALPHA ON?! O FUCK THAT!

i am pissed cause I use opacity all the freakin time. how would you like it if you suddenly can't use your favorite feature?

i suggest a feature (here) add on to the opacity, and this is what I get? now I wouldn't even be able to use the feature even if you DID add it!

PUT OPACITY BACK TO HOW IT WAS.... PLEEEEEASE!

atleast have a check box it the Preferences/Advanced that when checked will allow the use of Opacity.

[edit]p.s. sorry for being a biznatch :(

ok. I over reacted. Sorry. (sigh)

But seriously, please add it back. Please? I'll make the whole staff pink waffels! :D

hope i helped

bizzy, read the post.

he said that he can't have desktop alpha on, and in 485 without desktop alpha on, you cannot use opacity. THAT is his problem, not not being able to find the option. A freaking sea-monkey can find the opacity option. :p

Peter_Berre 3rd August 2002 22:38

opacity on without desktopalpha... isn't that an oxymoron? i want transperancy, but i don't want to enable it.

Peter_Berre:
There are two different kinds of desktop alpha - "constant alpha" and "per-pixel alpha". "Constant alpha" allows you to change the transparency of an entire window as a whole, whereas "per-pixel alpha", as its name suggests, let's you set the transparency of individual pixels within a window. The problem with lumping them together is that a large number of pre-GeForce graphics cards (and cheap post-GeForce cards) accelerate "constant alpha" but not "per-pixel alpha."

It'd probably be a good idea to have two separate toggles in the preferences dialog. The System::Advanced preferences page could certainly fit both with a little rearrangement....
