Whats your screen resolution?

Just a poll. All of these are 4:3 ratios for most standard monitors
What the hell? i checked the poll box and look. no poll!

Reaper 9th August 2002 17:58

:hang: 1024x768 @60Hz

cyu 9th August 2002 17:58

Id prefer to use 1024X768 resolution since is the best. But unfortunately I have a 15" monitor, so I am forced to use 800X600.

Trigear 9th August 2002 17:58

1280x1024 for me. that's not exactly the right ratio (i think the right one would be 1280x960, but my voodoo3 gave me the option of a higher height, so i took it)

[edit] 19" monitor. don't try 1280x1024 on anything smaller, lest you go blind [/edit]

whiteflip 9th August 2002 18:04

the poll didnt work :( now i cant see which screen res is the most popular and which one got their girl friend stolen.....

800x600 on this 15inch CRT
1024x768 on a 10.4inch TFT LCD! all kinds of tiny small

Jay 9th August 2002 18:05

800x600 only because I don't have any monitors bigger then 15"

Vie 9th August 2002 18:10

1024x768 at home on the somthing inch screen (15 I think)

and on Di's its 800*600 on her 17 inch (its for ofice use and she need the larger pixels for her eyes)

banjoe-john 9th August 2002 18:14

YtseJam 9th August 2002 18:14

1280x1024, 17" monitor.

squell 9th August 2002 18:15

klumy 9th August 2002 18:15

1024x768 @ 85Hz

dylman 9th August 2002 18:21

1152x864 @ 100Hz on a 19"

papadoc 9th August 2002 18:22

1024x768 on a 17" monitor.
Makes working in Photoshop and Illustrator easier.
But it took some getting used to.

Same here, and the text is SO crisp! I also hook up a second extrenal flatscreen monitor at work @ 1024x768 for watching movies ( I've got an easy job of monitoring the school's servers and doing stupid tech stuff)

whiteflip 9th August 2002 18:24

1024x768 with photoshop is my favorite thing. the macs are are school go even higher with photoshop! ITS AWESOME. i love it so much. but everything else needs to run at 800x600

c2R 9th August 2002 18:28

1152x864 on my 19" job.

I tried setting it higher, but then sadly the refresh rate can't be set as high (grrr)

insomniac 9th August 2002 18:29

1152 x 864 on a Sony Trinitron 19"

Lain 9th August 2002 18:34

1024x768 on my 15" monitor

n_ick2000 9th August 2002 18:50

1280x960 at 85Hz with my very cool 19in flat screen monitor.

ComputerWiz311 9th August 2002 19:07

1280x1024 on a 17" monitor

UCI Silent Bob 9th August 2002 19:21

1280X1024 on a 17 inch Viewsonic Flatscreen. Cant work with any lower resolution.

Montana 9th August 2002 21:26

1280x1024 on a 17" monitor

MetallichicA 9th August 2002 21:43

1280x1024, 17" monitor

baafie 9th August 2002 21:49

1152x864@75Hz.

dylman 9th August 2002 21:54

Some people around here must be developing severe squints.

Namelessv1 9th August 2002 22:04

800x600 on a 17 in. monitor.

zorpidus 9th August 2002 22:09

1152x864, cause that's the max resolotion @ 75Hz and 32BPP on my 17" monitor...

I'd like to have it at 1600x1200 though... but I'll need a whole new monitor to do that I think :D

incubus*chick 9th August 2002 22:17

800x600 on a 14"(?) monitor. :/ It works for me :p

Bilbo Baggins 9th August 2002 23:00

I have the image projected into my retina. Now wait, thats my imagination...

1024x768 at an unkown level of refresh rate.

Atmo 10th August 2002 00:24

1280x960 @ 72hz. 17" monitor at the moment. Will move to 1600x1200 @ 85hz once i buy a 19" monitor.

1280x1024 gives a 1.25:1 aspect ratio, while 1280x960 gives the correct 1.33:1 aspect ratio found in most other resolutions like 640x480, 800x600, 1600x1200 etc.

s1138 10th August 2002 00:25

2048x1536:D
yeah...but i just did that...and my mouse was about the size of a needle

i keep mine at 1152x864

Aquila Blue 10th August 2002 01:58

800x600 cause it's a laptop moniter, about 11 inches I'd guess.

rm' 10th August 2002 03:56

I was running at 1280x1024 (60khz) until Atmo was kind enough to do the math for me, so I switched to 1280x960 (70khz). I'd like to be running at 1600x1200, but it's only 17", so I can't get that high.

Anything lower then this looks like large print for old folks. Can't stand it.

ctn|chrisw 10th August 2002 04:02

1024X768 at 60hz refresh (I tried 2048x1536 but It screwed up kauze of the refresh rate, thanks alot s1138 for saying that your mouse looke like a needle, I had to copy :D )

flatmatt 10th August 2002 05:01

1024x768 on my 17" monitor. Refresh rate is... uh... Psssssst... Bob! How do I find the refresh rate?

Uh, hehe. You didn't see that. ;)

ctn|chrisw 10th August 2002 05:05

to find your refresh rate go to where you change your resolution and click advanced then go to the monitor tab

jabaman42 10th August 2002 05:23

1024x768 80hz 32bit color works good for me on 15" monitor.

liquidmetallic 10th August 2002 05:49

1074 x 768 @ 85Hz on a 17" viewsonic a75f :D

whiteflip 10th August 2002 09:09

there is a nice noticeable difference between 75Hz and 85Hz
I now use 800x600 at 85Hz.

dylman 10th August 2002 10:55

I can't use anything less than 85Hz without developing severe eyestrain.
