ps. Yeah, I don't know what all these n00bs are talkin' about with this cpu-hog crap. It uses less than 2% on my pc (Athlon XP 1600+), and that's with AVS running (windowed or full screen).
Oh well, you just can't please some people . . . maybe they're trying to run it on a shabby p350 (or less) or something? lol :D

I've been trying to figure out the same thing... I'm running on PIII Mobile 900 and it stays at a pretty constant 1% cpu usage and 10.5 megs o' memory. This is almost identical to what Winamp2 uses. I'll admit that there is no way for me to use desktop alpha, but I'm smart enough to realize that its because of my lousy graphics card, not Winamp3.

hey hey am running winamp3 on a p2 350 with windows xp with 256mb of ram hehehehe(I need a upgrade soon) and it runs like charm and uses like 2-4% cpu while playing music so I dont know why some people are bitching about

hmmm :rolleyes: I have a Dell Inspiron laptop with PIII 600 and WA3 uses 40% of cpu power. Either you're lying or my system is f*cked up.

P Celeron 500 with 192MB of ram and it runs fine, only uses 1-2% of CPU

I have a PII 350 with 192MB RAM and AMD XP ATHLON `1100MHz with 256MB RAM and it runs about the same on those machines as well.

Hmmm... I think your system might be messed up. I never did like Dell laptops, Thinkpads are the only way to go :)

Here's a screenshot comparing WA2, WA3, and Sonique2. All of them were playing an MP3 with the skins I generally use. I tried to get the shot to show their average use, but keep in mind WA3 uses anywhere between 0 and 5% and SQ2 uses between 2 and 10%. The memory footprint of WA3 is about 5 megs more then the others.
