Odd happenings with a certain SRS plugin...
Something very odd has just happened with the ever popular SRS Wow Thing plugin, and as SRS stopped offering it ages ago I can't ask them for help.
I had it minimised to the tray, and I rightclicked on it and chose Restore. This is the first time I'd done it that way - normally I just doubleclick the icon. The result was that the system tray icon disappeared and the plugin never re-appeared, so I can't change any of the settings. No ammout of uninstalling, reinstalling, installing in different folders, registry searching, and jumping up and down in frustration can get it to appear again (applies to both winamp and the plugin). Has anyone else seen this problem? Does anyone know where the damn plugin stores it settings so I can reset them (I'm assuming its somewhere in the registry since a clean winamp install did not fix this). For your info: Windows XP Professional Winamp 2.78 |
What? Are you saying the whole of Winamp disappeared, or just the SRS plugin?
The SRS plugin settings will be stored in plugin.ini in the Winamp\Plugins dir. If you need any help sorting it out, then copy+paste the relevant section of plugin.ini here and we'll take it from there. It probably just needs an =0 changing to =1 or vice-versa. If it's the whole of Winamp that's affected, then you can simply modify a few settings in winamp.ini (in main Winamp dir) Full details here: RE: Winamp starts minimized/hidden: http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?threadid=69679 |
There is not a single .ini file in the plugins directory - jus dlls and a couple of html pages and images which are the help for various plugins.
And no, its only the plugin that has disappeared. Still can't get the damn thing back. :( |
WOW thing
I had the same problem. Anybody found a solution yet ?
And is there ANY way to make it work under Winamp 3 ? So good is this plug-in, I choose to de-install Winamp 3 after hearing how badly it souds compared to a WOW-ed Winamp 2. |
I seem to have the same problem as well. I've searched around within the forums and I wasn't able to find a solid answer for this problem. I had minimized the WOW GUI into the system tray and the next thing I knew, the icon on the system tray disappeared. I too have tried reinstalling the plugin and winamp, switching from classic skin to modern, but nothing has worked. My GUI has disappeared. :(
