ID3 editor quirks
 

First off, great efforts on such an excellent player!

*Now switching over to wish-mode*
Viewing the ID3 tag for a tune is too hard to get to. I have to right click on a song and click "View File Info". Sure, there might be a hotkey for that, but I liked in 2.x where you could just double click the current song as it scrolls in the main window and the ID3 editor pops up. When clicking the song title in 3.x, nothing happens at all. So how about putting that functionality back in there.

One more thing about the new ID3 editor:
You can't resize the window, thus you can't see the full file path and name of the file, even worse, you can't even select it to copy to the clipboard.

It sure would be great to have these two wishes added to the to-do list.

Another thing that would be nice is if you could press the TAB key to switch from field (Artist, Song, Album, etc) to field.
Also, they should put limits on how long the different fields in the ID3v1 tag can be since only so much information can be contained in an ID3v1 tag. So right now, people can type as much as they want into an ID3v1 field, but when they reload the file or info, the field will be truncated!

A lot of the time when I edit a song ID3 it turns everything in that ID3 into gibberish. I am running Windows98 SE along with a really sweet mouse pad.

Nailhead & brady are definitely right: WA3 kicks ass, but the ID3 window kinda, well, sucks :( Why do I have to change tabs when I want to go to ID3v2?
Please, Nullsoft gods, make it WinAMP2.x-like. Pleeeaaaase.

+vote copying filename (very useful if the file is named right but has no tag)

Hey, you guys aren't alone. I have the exact same issues with thie editor window also. Are there no registry settings when can mess with to atleast make the window resizable?

ID3 tag editing is terrible
 

Here is a list of possible improvements to the WinAmp3 ID3 tag functionality (some are also mentioned in above postings):

- Dbl. click of file title to open editor window (as in version 2)
- TAB to switch input fields ( as in version 2)
- Possibility to write text in Genre instead of having to scroll through the whole list to find your option (easier to write POP than scrolling and scrolling for it) (as in version 2)
- Possibility to see ID3v1 and ID3v2 simultaneously so that the differences can be easily seen (as in version 2)

I find the new ID3 tag editor so frustrating to work with that I have switched back to version 2.
