Simple shit left out of winamp3

As far as I'm concerned, winamp3 is near perfect. I love the fact that you can now play video files, but simple shit that one would use all the time was left out. First of all, I understand that the "jump to song" feature was elaborated on, but I really want the old feature that lets you press "J" and the window opens letting you search for a song. Second, the options blow my nutz. I want options on the spectrum analyzer, file icon options along with playlist icon options, display options that the old winamp had and the option to make winamp3 always on top by pressing "ctl + A". if these simple things were implemented in the new winamp3, myself and many others would be at peace.
Other than that, winamp3 rocks!

FIX THE J THING and also stupid file info thing

I agree BIG TIME with the J shortcut - I HATE having to go to the media library and search! and on top of that, when you do that by default it resets playlist entries that are played to the search results, sure yea I wanna hear a song but not over and over and over and over all the time ... also I noticed that whereas the J search feature was fast and simply narrowed results as more letters were added to search string, every time you do it in WA3 it completely restarts the search! With my 9000 mp3 playlist, that's agonizingly slow.
Also WHY does the file info have to be on 3 screens? the old interface was much easier to use...and I hate the fact that I can't copy and paste the file path ... that has great uses in winamp 2, for example if I wanna quickly rename or delete an mp3, or if I want to send it to someone on a messenger, I would just copy and paste filename from winamp 2 but this was taken away in wa3??!?

And the whole "haha you can't minimize me normally like other things including winamp 2" thing is really annoying too.

oh and also, what's up with the can't edit ID3 tags while file's playing anymore? Can't it just be like winamp 2, or buffer the file so it can be done??

Excellent point.

HUH?

What I mean is with winamp 2 it would minimize just like other windows, if its up on screen and u click the taskbar button it would minimize, and if u right click and choose minimize all it would...winamp 3 doesnt do this...you have to individually go to winamp and click the tiny minimize button ... minimize isn't even an option on the task bar rightclick menu for winamp! maybe this works in XP or soemthing, I'm usin 98

The whole context menu stinks. I liked how all the Winamp functions were grouped on a context menu off the main one. Also, the fact that you can change what it looks like also makes it a lot slower.

something i really miss... winamp2 used to remember the playlist position... this is no longer the case and i'm forced to start with the first song on the list every time I start winamp. maybe i'm just too dumb to find the settings for this option? also, winamp3 beta (can't remember which one) had an option where winamp would try to guess the artist/track from the filename... where'd that go?

other than that this is 'n great looking piece of software!!
