Playlists
Hi, When I try to rename my playlist it doesn't take affect or anything, it goes back to the old name (playlist001). Also whats the diffrence between saving the playlist as b4s, m3u and pls? How come I can't load more than one playlist?!!

The PLS and Winamps own B4S formats store the playlist name within the file.
the M3u format doesn't store playlist name within itself. So if you playlist is in the M3u format WA3 will have no clue as to its name. Regarding PLS and b4s. These formats contain the name of the playlist but you have to load them correctly. If you click the "playlist" button and load a PLS or b4s list AND you have a list highlighted already then the new list loaded will go right on top of the old list (thats why it appears you cannot load a more lists). Also the name of the OLD list is kept. To fix this, load the new list by clicking on a blank area on the Playlist box, then rightclicking and loading a new list, this way all lists can be loaded, and the ones in PLS or b4s formats will also display the correct name. M3u and Pls are common playlist formats whilst Winamps b4s is an XML based format which is faster in winamp. |
think simple!
these guys are responding on a higher level.
It's not like renaming a file in windows explorer, where you might click somewhere else on the desktop to complete a renaming. You need to actually hit the enter key after typing the new name. It hit me after the 3rd time it reverted back to 'Playlist001' |
ahhhhhhhh, I thought "I am Jesus" was hitting enter, actually I didn't even thinking of suggesting that one.

Ok, I managed to load multiple playlists now!:D
I got to rename them but them if I save them and load them again it goes back to the old "playlist001". Is that the way it is or did I do something wrong? |
That's the way it is. Hopefully it will be display the playlist name in further releases.

Thanks for the help guys.:D

The problems I've had with playlists is a) i still can't get it to load multiple playlists and b) if i load two directories into just some random playlist, winamp will only random play from ONE of those directories and not touch the other (i sat there for 30 minutes clicking next on random play and did not get ONE entry from the other directory)
Any ideas on what I could be doing wrong or if I just need to suck it up till the next version? *edit* in regards to two playlists, i'm trying to load two playlists into a newly created list... i can load two lists (ie. Playlist 001, Playlist 002) with no problem but i can't get random play to cross between the two and play files unless i select one from the opposite playlist and THEN do random play. Again, your help is appreciated. |
Hmm... maybe an answer, and one question...
To load multiple playlists you have to "Create" them, and then load the playlists in the new created ones... (in fact, I don't know if there is another way)...
So I have a question too... Is it possible to see the playtime of an entire Playlist ??? I searched it for about 15 min. and didn'd found it... Can anybody tell me how I can find out how long the playlists will play ??? |
