You can, with certain effort, pass spectrum curve values from custom waves...

There's always a trade-off. Perhaps the compilers could be more clever to optimize masks, but that's not what they were built for in the first place anyway, and it would also bloat up the compile...

When I try to raise the shader model level above 3 to go over 512 ops Milkdrop crashes and takes Winamp down with it. Then again going beyond is also too much to handle for my graphics card anyway....
