Guess the problem is that only Ubuntu 16.10 (yaketi) will upgrade to 7zip version 16, and nsis 3.0 produces this unreadable names with 7zip 9.20.

Thanks - that was often linked up when I searched for how to sign the uninstaller. Anyhow I wonder if this is really needed? The uninstaller is usually created locally - so it should not matter much....
