We are 24/7 live with a 7 year following. Downtimes are always frowned upon. But I might upgrade once I'm comfortable that I can pull down the downtime to a minimum.

That is correct. mp3 decoding is what I use, however I'm encoding to two endpoints, one of which is aacp (the other being mp3).
