Checked winamp.ini - it's not set to read only, even deleted it and so recreated it. Media player is NOT set to play audio cd's or mp3...still got this problem.

"Associate with Audio CD"...?
I'm running Windows ME, PIII 900MHz, 192MB
"Associate with Audio CD's" unchecks itself everytime I reboot so Audio CDs play with Windows Media Player 7 until I recheck it despite the file type...
