OK cool. Well normally shoutcast_trans bombs out after 2 or 3 days. The server restarted on April 1, so will come to you and let you know how long it stays up if it is over a week or so. Much obliged...

Have also seen some users using WinAMP and they too only connect for a second or two before they log off. Maybe this is not primarily an NSPlayer issue.

Thanks Sawg. I've managed to work that bit out now and have it added to a Cron job which checks to see if any music tracks have been added every hour and then updates the play list.

Does anyone know how to 'force' an update of the playlist? I have users who ftp into a directory and deposit their tracks. I then run the following command as a cron job every 15 minutes to update...
