Ok I'm looking for info on how to send ID3 tags from linux. I don't want to use sc_trans_linux or liveice because it rencodes already properly encoded mp3's. I'd like to hack holycast but need some...

What's your CPU load? sc_trans calls lame and reencodes the MP3's. I found this to be too much of a CPU hit and can't use sc_trans. This may explain your problem.
