The cost problem comes from using a relay server to handle the number of listeners you want at a decent bitrate.

You still need at least an ADSL...

Servers that handle this kind of bandwidth don't come cheap. It's not like hosting super low bandwidth websites. What makes you think that someone would gladly just give away some of thier bandwidth?...

Sorry, but it doesn't work, at least for me. Your address syntax is correct. Are you sure you have the right port number? What name do you your for the station so I can check the shoutcast directory.

Excuse my ignorance please, but how is that possible? The link you give out would have to change everytime you dialup. Unless, you use a relay host which is fixed and you just upload to it.

When running a rate of 56k it will sound much better in mono rather than stereo....

The station id comes from the info you provide under the "Yellowpages Configuration" of Shoutcast, specifically the Description entry.

Well, I guess that just means that my machine is on the edge of working. I was using version 1.75, but on a PIII550 and only 128 of ram.

Shoutcast works fine without SQR running on that machine so...
