The build at the X264 site dropped the older Video for Windows software interface to the codec that Winamp uses. Look for builds that still contain this interface there are a few around one project...

isn't nsvcap like all the other old nsv packages in that it
uses the older VFW interface rather the Directshow interface?.

Did you configure the VFW h264 interface on ffdshow?, the
encoder uses the VFW interface not Directshow.

have made that clearer, they do support ogg/theora/vorbis well
but you can't as yet readily mux h264 into ogg:cry:
