it is ok
i sorted out the problem
the wav file is some MI-SC4 file
and my computer doesn't supprt it
however it does supprt true speech
so i used yepp explorer software to convert the MI-SC4...

the error message is
missing codec, unable to open file
and in the title bar thing it says nullsoft waveform decoder v2.05a
so i presume that i am missing the v2.05a codec
sorry about that

Nullsoft Waveform Decoder v2.05a
does anyone know anything about the codec above for a winamp 2.81? i'm trying to play certain wav files (i'm not sure why they are so special hehe) and it keeps coming up with error missing codec...
