[resolved]: the lineage on some of these files goes back a long way... some probably to the pre-suit days of napster. The files that were causing trouble were either corrupt or given a false .mp3...

I'm running winAMP v5.541 with the 3rd party plugins ml_ipod and ml_sony. ml_ipod can do everything itunes is capable of from within winAMP, -which is great...
