I haven't tried this, but I imagine you could also use the Nullsoft Disk Writer plug-in (under Preferences->Plug-ins->Output).

This will output .wav files; you'd need to convert them to MP3's.

I'm not sure whether you would call this a problem, a bug, or a feature request.

I actually have a few gadgets that use different types of removable media (SmartMedia, Flash, etc), so I bought one...
