Hmm my ulimit -a always shows 1024 after each restart/relogin, as you said. The modif of the file does not change this issue. Any idea how to permnently change ulimit ?

i figured that on Linux :
A 1Mb intro file for 600 users, make the process to be 600Mb when i do ps-aux !
The intro file is loaded in memory once / user.
Is this normal ?
