Problem solved (which took me hours of trial and error):
The constantly high cpu usage was caused by the "WinampToTxt.2.3" plugin, which somehow intermingled with mscorwks.dll.

And the problem even occured when I had installed just the pure Winamp - without any additional plug-in.
