Ok ... dotme figured out the problem but he go the info on the problem wrong.
from the other post dotme listed:
Quote:
Your Intro file isn't making the embedded Flash player happy.

Check to make sure it's an exact match for the stream (bitrate, samplerate). If the problem continues, I don't know what to suggest other than to live with it if you don't think many listeners use the Flash player, or eliminate the Intro file..

VBR intro files and streams are also known to create problems. If the stream is 96kbps, make sure your Intro file is fixed at that rate too.
Here is where we stand now:

Intro files can not be used with the new SHOUTcast. This is nothing anyone is going to be able to fix except for AOL/Nullsoft.

Here is why I have come to that conclusion:
SHOUTcast 1 server without an intro file: the station works fine and displays the song info fine.
SHOUTcast 1 server with an intro file: the intro plays fine the music skips and no song info
SHOUTcast 2 server without an intro file: the station works fine and displays the song info
SHOUTcast 2 server with an intro file: the intro plays fine, the music plays fine but the song info doesn't show.

So

is correct.

But

is not a solution.

The capture.jpg shows how the files are encoded
both music and intro are 192K CBR 44100Hz Joint Stereo files.
the intro used to be 128K CBR 44100Hz Joint Stereo. (same as the encoding rate of the station and of course that wasn't working) but since dotme said it should be an exact match for the stream ... I decided it was an exact match for the stream and wasn't working ... I might as well try encoding it to be an exact match for my music files. (I was wrong in my previous post stating that all my music files were 128K ... they are actually all 192K

But I have now attempted both ways so having the exact stream or whatever doesn't solve anything ... only removing the intro solves the problem on either server.

So again I have to reach the conclusion that the SHOUTcast web based player is a total loss and they need to start again from scratch and get it right this time

There are a lot of flash players out there that work fine... I don't understand why SHOUTcast is having such a problem ... heres a suggestion ... fire your programmers and go buy a flash player from a company who knows how to program or...............

Bring back the original classic player page and give up on this crappy, ugly, horribly designed, "new" SHOUTcast site.
